Board Usage Rules
These rules are only guidelines are can be changed at the Administrations discretion.
Whatever staff says goes. If you don't like it, have a problem with the way the board is run, or a problem with one of the staff, you have two options:
1) Bring it up in a mature manner (in a PM), or
2) Kindly Leave
The staff doesn't appreciate being insulted for doing their jobs. Respect them and they will respect you back.
GENERAL RULES
Freedom Of Speech:
This board may allow it, but it does not protect slander [speech made to offend or provoke others]. Name calling once in a while is ok, but don't go out of your way to flame someone in every post you make. If you can't handle problems on the board in a mature fashion and you're going to flame, take it off the board, please. If you dont, after a warning, all parties will be dealt with accordingly, whether it be a suspension or banning. Also, try to keep personal problems with other boards or persons off of ours.
Fair Treatment/Equality:
Everyone here is equal. Those who think they're better than others; aren't. You need to treat everyone equally, whether you respect them or not. They have the same rights to post here as you do. Do not treat those who don't deserve it like crap. No exceptions, or you will be reprimanded. Offensive/racist language/material is forbidden in all forums. Members who violate this will be dealt with depending on the severity of the usage.
And if you're joking, please show it. People can't hear voice tones or see facial expressions in text. Use stuff like "j/k" or "" to show that you're joking around.
Flamewars:
Should the flamewar that took place in a topic that was locked or forced to be stopped by a staff member be started again in another topic, the creator and all who took place in the flamewar continuation will be warned.
Spamming/Trolling:
If a user is caught doing this, they will receive a warning by Private Message. Should it continue, posting privileges and (in serious cases) the user account will be suspended.
Locking Topics:
Staff members have the power to lock and unlock topics. A topic will only be locked if there is a situation gone out of control, spam topics, discussion ended (as in quick questions like asking about features), or at user request. Generally, if a topic is locked, starting a new topic to further discuss the locked topic is not always a wise idea. Only the topic creator should be asking the staff to unlock their topic. Since different outcomes are always to be expected, locking topics is done on the best judgement of the staff. DO NOT POST A TOPIC ASKING FOR A TOPIC TO BE UNLOCKED. If this must be done at all, please contact the staff via the PM system.
Member & Posting Rules
Uploading Torrents: (Available soon)
Every release post MUST include an attached torrent on a tracker that does NOT require members to sign up before downloading. Do not post an FTP link, HTML link, or direct link to a tracker. Torrent ONLY. All others will be deleted immediately with no questions asked.
Do NOT password your .zip/.rar files. They will be deleted immediately as well.
Personal Photo/Signature:
Signature pictures should be no larger then 200px in height and 700px in length and should not cause a horizontal scrollbar to appear in 1024X768 resolution. Signatures can include HTML, images, (small) flash files, etc. If any of these result in slowdown of the board, then a mod or admin may request the image/sig be changed. If the image/sig is not changed, then the mod/admin has the right to remove the image/sig in question. Personal Photos are not enabled.
Avatar Uploads:
Avatar uploads are permitted. Any abuse of this feature will result in disabling it and deletion of all stored avatars. (Also, please do not use your Avatar to insult other members in any way, shape, or form. That goes for sigs and Profiles, too.)
Custom Titles:
Only Admins/Mods/Trusted Members/Donators receive custom titles upon request.
Please do not PM the Admins with title requests or create an "I want a title" thread.
Editing Posts:
All users can edit their own posts. This is allowed so that if a mistake is made, then the person who made the post can fix it. If a mod or admin edits something out of a post, or adds something to a post, this does NOT give the original poster of that post the right to change the post back to what it was before the mod/admin made the edit. Failure to accept a mod or admin's edit to your post by editing it back will result in the edit feature being removed for that user.
Linking/ISOs/Warez:
Linking to files of, or pages including Commercial or copyrighted, ISO's or illegal warez are not allowed in any form. Any such links will be removed and your warning level will be raise immediately. This also means that requesting or posting cracks/serials/keygens etc, is NOT acceptable or allowed. Blatant disregard for this rule will earn you an immediate IP Ban.
Nudity/Shock Images/etc.:
The only form of nudity allowed on the board shall be in the form of art on The Adult Forum. Anything too much will be removed.
Furthermore, Shock Images (such as www.ratemypoo.com or anything with super graphic content) are not tolerated and will be removed on sight. Links to these images/sites must have an appropriate "Warning" attached to the post.
Bandwidth Theft:
If you're going to link to images, PLEASE upload them to your own space, unless the site hosting the images you want to link to specifically allows image linking. This rule is in place to prevent the appearance of unpleasant/explicit load-blocking images. Most owners don't appreciate having their images and content directly shown, so just use a link. Also, please do not steal our bandwidth by using images hosted on our site at another site.
